A must have book to analyize problems with water treatment.

This book is a need item to help trouble shoot problems with boiler, DA tanks, condensate return tanks,pumps, and piping. If you can see the problem, you will probably see a picture of the problem in this book along with what caused it...and in color 95 percent of the time. It has been a real life saver, literlly. You gotta have this book even if you only use it once..it could save your life, or your building/s. Try it ..you will like it. My instructor in 2 grade class was so impressed it got one.

Designed by Allis Chalmers on the chassis and drive train of the M2 Light Tank, the 18-ton M4 High Speed Tractor was a prime mover for the U.S. Army during World War II. It was tasked with moving artillery, in particular 3-inch and 90mm anti-aircraft guns, 155mm guns, and 8-inch and 240mm howitzers. Built as a "crawler" and equipped with a 6-cylinder, water-cooled engine, the M4 could travel cross-country through swamps and sand, or on the highway at speeds up to 33 mph. Over 5,500 M4s were built between 1942 and 1945, with many remaining in service into the 1960s. Created in 1943, this official TM 9-785 Technical Manual reveals a great deal about the M4's design and capabilities. Intended as a manual for those charged with operation and maintenance, this manual shows many aspects of its engine, cooling, power, drive train and other systems. Originally labeled restricted, this manual was declassified long ago and is here reprinted in book form. Care has been taken to preserve the integrity of the text.

very nice, but...

This is a beautiful book, very nicely done. But, having already read quite a bit about color management and inkjet printing, I was hoping for more specific technical details. The author makes many statements which I'm sure are true (I do believe he knows what he's talking about), but aren't illustrated with examples. For example, he says 200 to 360 ppi is the ideal range when sizing an image for printing, and that going over 360 can actually be detrimental. Ok -- how about an example to show exactly what the effect would be? Yes, I can spend the time (and cost) to run my own tests to see, but the book should have done that for me.

FAR from a "complete" guide

I agree with several of the other reviewers - this book is well done but the title is misleading. In my opinion a >complete< guide to Epson should take you through the >complete< process of color digital printing on Epson printers and be littered with actual examples, good and bad, of all the resolution, ink type, paper type, printer model and color management option combinations that produce a digital color print. My copy is going back.

Complete Crap - Save Your Money

I thought that having Epson's name on the front cover meant this would be a fairly credible book on printing techniques. Guess again. It's filled with many beautiful photos, some better than others, but most have absolutely nothing to do with the text or have any instructional value. They're obviously used simply as pretty space filler. Virtually all space that does have text is devoted to redundant platitudes and generalities, and if you try and suffer through the entire book (as I did) you'll find yourself getting madder and madder that there's no substance to it at all. Even if you wait to the very end. Shame on Epson for having their name on the front cover.

Finally, a MENTAL SYSTEM that works

I have read several books on the mental game and this one by far is the best. Lanny does an outstanding job of explaning how performance is generated. In his view performance is a function of three mental processes, the Conscious Mind, the Subconscious Mind, and the Self Image. He shows a model on the relationships of the three and provides outstanding principles that support his view.

Unlike other books that talk about one area of the mental game and try to get you to cope with yourself, this one provides explations of why people are where they are at and shows you how you can improve. I have since purchased other products (such as Freedom Flight, which is on audio and available on Amazon) from Lanny's web sight and have been very pleased with all of them.

This book is an easy read, with little filler in it and I would recommend it to everyone. I rank this in my top three books on the mental game, the other two being "The Inner Game of Tennis" by Tim Gallwey and "Fearless Golf" by Gio Valiante.

the real guide to positive thinking

There are a lot of books out there on positive thinking - books like "the secret" come to mind. Wish for a bike and you will get it! Wish for $1 million and you will get it! Why? Many books will outline some vague, metaphysical/new age reason - surely if you sit on your bed and squeeze eyes shut, cross your fingers, and mutter your wish over and over, god/some spiritual force/genie in the bottle will grant it for you...

This is not that kind of book. In a nutshell, the book basically lays out a mental system for positive reinforcement, planning and action. It is about dreaming, yes. But it is also about planning and taking immediate action. It IS about repetition, envisioning success, and "rehearsing" in your head - but in a way that is rooted in reality and practicality.

The book talks a lot about performance as well. The author is an olympic gold medalist in rifling, so a lot of this is applicable in high pressure scenarios. I actually came across this book was because I heard mental management being mentioned by a former navy seal/sniper in a documentary. But it's a very balanced kind of "performance" - it's not an iron-fist kind of discipline. It's a method that relies on positivity and focusing on strengths.

Yes - we all know positive thinking helps - we're not stupid. But I have never come across a book that laid it out in a comprehensive, no none-sense manner. It's clear, it makes sense, and it's not fluff. It's the same old principle...but with a new light shone on it and using simple methods that makes sense. The writing style is conversational, but with substance - I feel like I had a conversation with a wise grandparent (there's a lot of humor in the book too).

If you're starting out personal growth, getting your life into shape and you feel you're ready for the next level, I highly recommend this book. It's a very quick read. I've read a lot of self-help books, and honestly there are only 3 or 4 out there that I can really say changed my life. This is one of them.

(I would recommend Self-Theories by Dweck and Feel the Fear and do it anyway as good starting books before this one, if you're currently in a bad spot - good luck!).

Helped me Win 2 World Titles

I recieved this book, from a friend, as I was reaching the top of my shooting career. It IS the very best mental managment system there is. It helps me when there seems there is nothing else to improve on. With Mr. Bassham's ideas I earned 2, back to back world skeet titles and have reached the consistance in my shooting that I have always wanted. I recomend this to anyone who seriously participates in any sport, not only shooting.

About the Author
Larry Kirkpatrick has always been a teacher; he just didn't know it. After receiving a B.S. in physics from Washington State University and a Ph.D. in experimental high-energy physics from MIT, he began his academic career at the University of Washington as a typical faculty member. However, he found that he was spending more and more time in the classroom and less and less time in the laboratory. Finally, he decided that he would get a position teaching physics full time or he would quit physics and use his computer skills to make lots of money. Fortunately, Montana State University hired him to teach physics. He served for eight years as academic director of the U.S. Physics Team that competes in the International Physics Olympiad each summer and has also served as President of the American Association of Physics Teachers. He retired in 2002 to concentrate on teaching, writing, ranching, and playing golf.

Greg Francis is first and foremost a teacher. As an undergraduate at Brigham Young University he taught recitation sections normally reserved for graduate students. Later as a graduate student studying plasma physics at MIT he regularly found opportunities to teach classes normally reserved for research faculty. After finishing his doctorate in 1987 he served as a postdoctoral fellow at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories. Although his day job gave him the opportunity to work with world-class scientists on exciting problems, he found that he really preferred his night job, teaching physics classes at the local community college. In 1990, Greg joined the Physics Education Research Group at the University of Washington-Seattle, learning the "science" of effective physics teaching. Since 1992 Greg has continued to experiment with active learning approaches in large introductory classes at Montana State University where he is currently an Associate Professor of Physics.
