About the Author
Dr. Anthony E. Schwaller has been working in the field of automotive technology and teaching about technology for 35 years. During his teaching career he received the "Distinguished Technology Educator Award" in 1990, the "Special Recognition Award" from ITEA in 1995, and was selected as the Technology Teacher Educator of the Year" in 1997 fro the Council for Technology Teacher Education. He also received the "Outstanding Research Award" in 2003 for his research on Modular Technology in the classroom. During his teaching career, he as worked for Allis Chalmers, General Motors, Eastern Illinois University, and St. Cloud State University where he is now professor and department head. He has written over 50 articles in professional journals, written ten textbook in the automotive technology and related fields, and has given more than 50 presentations on topics in the fields of automotive, transportation, energy technology, and instructional strategies.

A must to develop confidence to pass ASE the first time

This book alone can't pass ASE. But if you use it with test question oriented review book on the Market... no problems
Salute to the author no because he's a PHh. D. but he's making sure the book is published the way he wants it. (dedicated and determined to get the points across the readers) and bring home something. read on....

So why you should have this book with you when you are prepared for the ASE?
1. The diagrams . every diagrams , well!! Almost 99.9% diagrams in the book have more than one `captions' (short phrases that explain/indicate parts of the whole) inside the pictures. Name me a textbook that bother to do this.
2. if the technical terms, appear in the book. Those are the terms you should note down in your notebook and focus and study. The author carefully choose and explain not too many concepts but that is enough to get you the big picture what's going on.. for example. On TurboCharging.,,, he bring in the Exhaust Turbine and Intake compressor, therefore boost occur in the intake manifold... lastly and gentlely and he bring in another terms wastegate to complete the whole story. And that's not all. All the above talk is just theories.. In summary he bring in the real turbocharger construction, with captionSSSSS diagrams and real photo. To finally end the topics, he throw in intercooler to conclude that `the result is more power from the engine'.
3. babysitting you all the way from start to finish... well all textbook is supposed to teach and give you the best knowledge on the subject....Buy this book and you will totally agree with me..

skip the ` Problems, diagnosis , and service' of this book. You can't have the cake and eat it... ` the best of both world is only a dream' but read this book first and do the ASE questions and you will find it more meaningful and confidence to do so.. mark my words.

The belief in a literal millennium was an important aspect in the Christian eschatology of the ante-Nicene age. The chiliastic hope of a future earthly reign of Christ was substituted with the view of a realized millennium constituting the secular dominion of the Roman Church. The factor which most contributed to this change was Augustine's spiritualized interpretation of the first resurrection. He understood it to mean a resurrection of those dead in sin, raised to spiritual life. In his book, De civitate dei, he advanced the opinion that the kingdom of God was already set up at Christ's first coming and nothing remained to be accomplished before the final judgment except the brief reign of the Antichrist. Thus the teaching of a literal millennium became discredited because it was perverted by some of its friends and misrepresented by its opponents.

About the Author
Dr. Martin Erdmann studied theology in Columbia, SC (Master of Divinity), Basel, Switzerland and Aberdeen, Scotland (Master of Theology). In 1999, he was awarded a doctoral degree in modern Church History at Brunel University, Uxbridge, England. In 1996, he founded Online Communication Systems, inc. in Columbus, Ohio. For four years he headed up the NT department of the Staatsunabh�ngige Theologische Hochschule Basel (State-independent Theological Seminary), Switzerland. In his position as Senior Scientist at the University Hospital in Basel, he was involved in researching the ethical implications of Nanotechnology. He was also an Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies (distance education) at Patrick Henry College, Virginia. Currently, he is the Director of the Verax Institute. Dr. Erdmann is married to Joy and has two children, Estelle Ch�rie and Johannes Luc.

Martin Erdmann’s study on millennialism in the early church is a welcome contribution to this subject area. He sifts through the available evidence and presents a solid case for premillennialism. Not everyone will agree with Erdmann's conclusions, but they will be challenged and profit from his thorough research. Take up and read.

There are theological books which are wordy, but nevertheless profound and theologically sound. Other theological books are theologically questionable, but very readable. The newly published edition Millennium: Historical Exegetical Debate of author Dr. Martin Erdmann is neither wordy nor superficial. It is an excellent, well documented study about the history of patristic debate concerning the millennium. What makes this book so extraordinary is the fascinating and gripping presentation of the debate among church fathers about the millennium. The author shows the origin of the two competing hermeneutical systems, pre- and amillennialism that dominates the theological debate until our day. He also discusses the postmillennial and dispensational view. Martin Erdmann demonstrates impressively how the amillennial position took precedence over the premillennial doctrine. Amillennialism dominated the debate since the 4th century and beyond the Reformation era. There is sufficient ground to challenge amillennialism not only on the basis of the writings of many church fathers, who believed in a literal millennium, but also, more important, based on sound hermeneutics and a thorough exegesis of Revelation 20. I can fully endorse the conclusion of Dr. Martin Erdmann, who “believes that the interpretation which accounts best for the language and context of Revelation 20:1-10, is the system of premillennialism.” This book combines theological excellency with a captivating style of writing.

This is a scholarly look at the origins of the millennial debate. Dr. Erdmann, who is a thorough researcher, considers the exegetical and historical foundations of the various views of the millennium. He begins with an introduction to the genre of Jewish apocalyptic literature, then presents an exegesis of Revelation 20. This is followed by a review of the hermeneutical principles and the views of the early church fathers through Augustine. Regardless of one's view of the millennium, this is a very important book in understanding the debate. It is well-documented in regard to the facts presented, clear and precise in style, and courteous in tone. I highly recommend it.

Over almost six decades, he has been responsible for contributions to many fields of psychology, including social cognitive theory, therapy and personality psychology, and was also influential in the transition between behaviorism and cognitive psychology. He is known as the originator of social learning theory and the theory of self-efficacy, and is also responsible for the influential 1961 Bobo doll experiment.

A Classic, and Packed with Scientific Studies to back up the efficacy of behavior modification techniques

I still have my copy of this book which I obtained while studying Behavior Modification during obtaining a Master's Degree in Psychiatric Social Work in the 1970's.

At the time it was the most scientific book I had ever read, and I'm not sure I've actually found another one since then to surpass it either ! ! The author not only goes into how to effect behavioral change, he goes into great depth to explain why it works, it's subtle variations, and documents every thing he says with footnoted scientific studies. In many of the pages of the book he will have a paragraph of information and in that single paragraph he will have 3 or 4 or 5 studies referenced that support what he is saying.

To summarize, if you want the best book out there on Behavior Modification, this is probably it. He also goes over several classical cases studies previously published to support other psychoanalytic branches of psychology, and destroys their arguments and shows how, in fact, the mechanism behind why something worked was actually due to behavior modification, not what the other authors had proposed.

decorative Russian ornament

I love all things Russian and this sourcebook is no exception. This incredible reference is written in English, Spanish, French and German. The collection brings together details from ancient Russian manuscripts from the tenth to the sixteenth centuries. The first part of the book contains an introduction then hundreds of interesting decorative motifs in chronological order. The second half of the book provides templates which can be used for tracing or scanning. The designs in the latter are simpler yet larger and can be used in many ways. The designs come from Byzantine, Scandinavian, Russian and Baltic sources. Plate 14 shows delightful peacocks and other birds surrounding an ornate frieze. Several plates show intricate illuminated letters, some from a fourteenth century Psalter. The plates and reproduction is excellent. A wonderful and varied selection of ornament for designers and artists and those who are interested in all things Russian. This review first appeared on yarnsandfabrics website.
